Biogas Convention Nuremberg 2025 – We’ll Be Back!

Q8Oils Marketing 22 January 2026 Energy

Biogas Convention in Nuremberg is not just another industry meeting, but a place where the future of energy is discussed and shaped.
Q8Oils was at the centre of key discussions for biogas plant operators during the convention from December 9 to 11, 2025, represented by Alex Maltchev, Denis Jantschuk and Thomas Rudolph. During the talks, the challenges within the industry were once again highlighted: how to meet higher efficiency expectations, navigate stricter political frameworks, and reduce operating costs without sacrificing reliability.

Within these challenges, lubricants take on a strategic role, moving beyond the status of a consumable to become a key factor in the profitability and safety of biogas plants. They enable longer oil drain intervals, minimise downtime and reduce maintenance costs—helping operators secure predictable planning, high asset availability and measurable cost benefits. In a market where every kilowatt hour counts, these performance gains are critical.

Our exchanges with long-standing partners such as INNIO Jenbacher, EPS and ENERGAS once again underlined the importance of collaboration that goes beyond the product itself. Together, we discussed not only technology, but also the political and regulatory developments shaping the future of the industry—from the Biomass Package to EEG regulations. The keynote “New Government – New Opportunities?” reinforced that the framework is evolving and highlighted our shared responsibility as partners to support operators throughout this transition.

Discussions around new technologies, including reversible fuel cells, CO₂ accounting software and mobile substrate solutions, demonstrated the growing complexity of the industry. In this evolving environment, the importance of the right lubricant remains constant, as engine reliability depends on it. Our approach therefore goes beyond product delivery, focusing on expertise, knowledge transfer and close cooperation with operators to support safe and efficient plant operation.

The Biogas Convention was all about exchange and connection. Conversations with OEMs, service companies and industry experts reinforced our conviction that dialogue is the foundation for tackling the challenges of the coming years.

We thank the organisers for the excellent event and the warm hospitality during the evening networking session in Nuremberg. And we are already looking forward to the next Biogas Convention.
