CPL is a global leader in precision engineering and manufactures critical components for medical equipment. In March it answered the government’s call for manufacturing expertise to help produce respirators. Extending operations, while adopting new social distancing work practices, the team is working round the clock to manufacture respirator parts.
Speed of response is critical. One client gave a 36-hour window from design consultation to production; the team leapt into action and manufacture is underway. Sample holders for virus vaccine development in the US were turned around in nine days, from order to shipping.
Nick Raven, operations manager at CPL, tells us : “We have the skills, machines and technology to help – and our suppliers have bust a gut to keep us stocked with materials. It is a real team effort and we will keep at it for as long as we are needed.
