The METEF Innovation Award in the Green Materials and Processes category
The innovation submitted was Q8 Brunel XF 700, a range of metalworking fluids developed using synthetic base oils derived from natural gas, free from sulfur, nitrogen, and aromatic compounds. This innovative formulation offers exceptional stability compared to traditional base oils, extended service life, and significant reductions in both cost and waste. It also improves wetting and cleaning properties, reducing fluid carryover and ensuring optimal machine cleanliness.
These fluids are suitable for various machining operations on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including alloy steels, cast iron, and aluminum alloys.
They also feature a high safety profile, being free from hazardous substances such as boric acid, formaldehyde donors, and secondary amines, thus protecting both the environment and operator health.
For these reasons, the METEF Innovation Award jury selected Q8Oils as the winner in the Green Materials and Processes category.
